RESULTANT DAMAGES CLAIM

ASSESSMENT

Black Bird Construction was contacted by the client’s insurance company to assess and conduct repair work. An assessment took place at the client’s property in Kenilworth, where various items were inspected and a quotation was then generated and accepted by the insurer and client. Below is a breakdown of what transpired during the claim and excerpts of the assessor’s findings have been included as a means to explain the various building work required to repair the damages. The scope of work has also been included along with photos of the damages before and after the repairs were completed. SCOPE OF WORKS

BELOW IS A BREAKDOWN OF THE REPAIR WORK CONDUCTED TO THE RESULTANT DAMAGES AT THE AFFECTED PROPERTY:

Carpet replacement:
  • Remove the existing carpet, as well as all existing grippers and trims.
  • Repair screed where necessary.
  • Supply and fit matching carpet.
  • New carpet to be installed to the affected bedroom.
  • Naplock carpet profiles and all trims included in installation as per existing.
  • All labour to install full carpet to all affected areas included in costing.
  • Supply and fit new grippers to area perimeter.
  • Colour and pile to be selected by client.
  • Price includes all cuttings and wastage.
Dehumidifier | Dryer:
  • Place dehumidifier in the affected area and allow to run for 2 days minimum before installing new carpet.
  • Test moisture level before installation of new carpets.
Skirting boards:
  • Remove existing skirting boards.
  • Replace damaged lengths.
  • Prep, prime and install skirting boards.
  • Apply 2 coats of enamel paint (white).
Rubble removal:
  • Clean and clear site thoroughly before vacating completely.
  • Ensure that the site is left in a clean and orderly manner.
