REPORT
Damage Report:
- Due to the nature of the situation, our leak detection and plumbing team were sent out immediately to assist the client with the burst pipe at the affected property. Our leak detection technician identified the burst pipe’s location under the driveway’s paving. The plumbing team then created an access point by excavating the area and immediately identified a section of cracked polycop pipe. They believe that the pipe cracked because of a few reasons such as expansion and contraction in the substrate, age, the fact that there have been municipal workers in the area switching the water-main supply on and off. The pipe however was found to have a massive crack running through it and had to replaced.
- As per the photos, new pex pipe was used to replace the section of polycop pipe as it is far more durable and long lasting. The burst was eliminated, and the new pipework is secure. Once the repairs were identified as successful, the building team then proceeded to repave the area as they could not leave the driveway as it was.
Resultant Damages:
- Due to the plumbing team having to access the burst pipe, the paving in the area was lifted and affected.
- Our building team then took over and re-paved the affected section of paving.
- The paving has been re-laid as it previously was and the repair work completed.
