ALARM SYSTEM | ELECTRICAL SURGE DAMAGE CLAIM

DAMAGE REPORT:

Black Bird Construction was appointed to assess a damaged alarm system.
After a thorough assessment of the alarm system, we found that transformer and PC board of the control panel have blown.
After opening the transformer and doing a thorough inspection we found that the transformer had blown due to an electrical surge.
Due to the transformer blowing it allowed AC voltage through to the PC board of the control panel which led to that component blowing as well.
Our recommendation is that the transformer be replaced, as well as the control panel. It is not possible to conduct a repair to the existing components due to the PC being completely damaged.

NOTE: A request for a quote of a completely new alarm system was sent. The below SOW is for a new system and not to simply replace the damaged components.

RESULTANT DAMAGE:

There was no resultant damage to the surrounding property.

SCOPE OF WORK

Repairs to security system:

Remove all damaged components making up the existing security and alarm system.
Remove existing/damaged transformer and control panel.
Supply and fit replacement transformer & control panel.
Supply & fit DS X64 | KIT40-6 X64 serial kit.
Supply & fit LCD keypad, PSU & battery as we
Supply & fit onboard expander.
NOTE: The replacement system is to either match or be of the same value as the existing/damaged system.
Connect the new components to the property.
Test the alarm and security system thoroughly before vacating the property.
Ensure that the alarm system is working correctly.
