LEAKING POOL LIGHT | ELIMINATE LIGHT CLAIM

DAMAGE REPORT:

“Our leak detection technician attended to the above-mentioned property on the 26th of May in order to conduct an inspection relating to a leaking pool light fitting. After the inspection of the pool, we found the light fitting to be leaking. As the pool is raised and has timber decking planks as a finishing on the surroundings, to expose and repair the light will prove to be very time consuming and difficult. We would recommend the timber decking be removed and refitted by the building team thereafter.”

RESULTANT DAMAGES:

Due to the pool’s light leaking, a small area on the underside of the slab below has been affected by moisture related damages.
Due to the pool leaking, water can be seen dripping from the light fitting in the affected area.
In order to prevent this from occurring we must repair the light first. Thereafter the ceiling area that has been damaged by the moisture can be prepped and repainted.
Once the repairs to the pool light have been completed, we will then be able to conduct a further assessment to the resultant damages.
A damage report will be submitted once the assessment has been concluded.

POSSIBLE STRUCTURAL ISSUES:

We have already discussed that using any machinery or tools that vibrate must not be utilised. This has ultimately led to a harder more labour-intensive approach to conducting the repairs.
Our biggest concern is that once the repairs begin, hairline cracks could develop around the affected area leading to even more severe issues at a later stage.
The light is sitting at a very awkward position and requires precision labour to gain access to.
